MENU FAQ

Q: When are menu submissions due?

A: Menu deadline is no later than July 26, 2024 at 5:00pm EST.

After this time, a late fee of $150.00 will be invoiced.

Q: What price(s) should my menus be set at?

A: Below are the price points being offered for each service. You CAN just offer lunch or brunch to join the event!

LUNCH (optional)
2 courses for $19 and/or $29

DINNER
3 courses for $29, $39 and/or $49*
 •  SPECIAL NOTE •  *You CAN also offer a $59, three-course Sizzle Dining menu. BUT YOU MUST ALSO HAVE A $49 BASE MENU. This is only for those restaurants that have very high regular menu prices. You can NOT only have a $59 Sizzle Dining menu.

Q: How many items can I have on my menu?

A: We studied our most successful restaurant's menus from the last 8 years, and found a consistent theme. These restaurants heard over and over again how their guests specifically chose to dine with them due to their great Sizzle Dining menu options! Because of this, we have developed a special menu template to streamline our process. With this process, we ask that you follow the format below.

Q: Can I have more than one menu for brunch/lunch/dinner?

A: Yes, you can have multiple brunch, lunch, and/or dinner menus. Please note: the more you offer, the more overwhelming it could be for the customer and your kitchen. What we've seen work best is one lunch menu/price and one dinner menu/price.

If you do choose to offer more than one, please upload each menu separately.

Q: What Should I have on my menu?

A: Typically, we like to see a mix of some of your well known or popular dishes along side a few new offerings that have been specially created for the Sizzle Dining event!

TIPS & TRICKS

#1 - Patrons are choosing where they go based on how good the menu sounds, not the $$, so please do your best to build delicious-sounding descriptions!
A menu should be clear about the ingredients they use as this will help people decide where best to spend their money!

#2 - Please don't treat the desserts like the red-headed stepchild!
One of the biggest complaints we hear is that the app and main sounded wonderful but the dessert was like an afterthought so we didn't go there.

#3 - Please, add "Up-Sells" to your menu!
This will help your check average and increase profits and tips for the servers! i.e. upgrade for $ to add extra shrimp/lobster onto the app or entree, upgrade to a bigger steak or better cut for $ extra, or get creative with steak toppings upgrades, you can even do an upgrade extra $$ for a better dessert. The patrons are coming in thinking they are saving a few $$ and are willing to splurge on extras so don't miss the boat!  

#4 - Sorry, but you can not offer any additional "FREE" benefits if someone buys a Sizzle Dining meal. i.e. free wine or any beverage, included with the Sizzle Dining menus. This is not fair to the other restaurants. You can offer a free gift card or coupon to come back though.

tThe most successful participating restaurants are those that wholeheartedly embrace the event, and promote it to their customer base!

#5 - We strongly suggest you also offer vegan or vegetarian dining option(s).
Every year, the biggest request from customers is for the restaurants to offer a vegan or vegetarian option. All you would need to do is offer 1 v/v app, 1 v/v main, and 1 v/v dessert on your Sizzle Dining menu.

Q: What if I have change(s) to my menu(s) after being submitted?

A: We understand how food prices can quickly change causing you to adjust your menu(s) accordingly. Because of this, we offer ONE FREE PROOF first and (up to) ONE FREE REVISION to [each of] your menu(s). After one revision, you will be charged $100.00 PER REVISION ROUND, PER MENU until you approve your menu(s) to be finalized for printing.

Q: What is a SIZZLE COCKTAIL?

A: Since the event brings people in the door with a discounted mentality they usually don't mind splurging on a special drink. Make a Sizzle Cocktail that has a low cost, yet sounds interesting, tastes good and looks pretty and this will help increase the Sizzle Dining check averages. Add it to your menu for a value price yet still make a good profit.

Sizzle Cocktail Contest
When you add a cocktail to your Sizzle menu this year, make a contest out of it with your team! At the end of the event, email us the name of your top three servers that sold the most Sizzle cocktails during the 21-day event. We will put all the submitted names into a computerized randomizer and pick 3 winners. 1st prize $200 visa card, 2nd prize $150 visa card, and 3rd prize $100 visa card. Each winner will also receive a goodie bag with other prizes and Sizzle Swag!
